What’s in our name?

Introducing Kaizink: a fusion of the Japanese word ‘kaizen,’ meaning change for the better, and ‘ink’ — a nod to our craft. Together, Kaizink signifies our unwavering dedication to excellence, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of growth, propelling us forward as leaders in the screen printing and embroidery industries.

Adopting ‘kaizen’ as part of our identity best represents our dedication to constant, consistent, and continuous daily improvements. This is how we streamline our processes, elevate product quality, and optimize our customer’s experience. Consequently, Kaizink is ready to disrupt the industry and establish itself as not only a company but a movement.

 

Our story

The humble beginnings of Kaizink began with an Arizona musical instrument store called Monkey Mambo. Owner Jeff Hale needed new storefront window graphics, and after calling 50 sign companies, three finally responded. Of those three companies, only one came out to deliver a quote. They took the cash deposit and never returned it. Now, what did that mean? Opportunity.

In 2008, Jeff broke from the music business, bought a $500 vinyl plotter on eBay, and got into the temporary sign industry by creating a company called Jam Branding with one primary core value. Today, it’s still our first: be impeccable with your word.

Our transformation

Jam Branding was the very first name of the company before it went through many incarnations to become Kaizink. There were names such as Metro Sign Company, Signs In A Snap, LexiPrint, Color Wrapture, First Impressions, and then back to Metro Sign Company, and finally, it became Halo Ink. Halo Ink took on principles from the book ‘2 Second Lean’ by Paul Akers, which transformed the business. To build a national presence, the company rebranded to Kaizink® due to a competitor with a similar name.

What is rebranding?
